Lovely interiors and an even more beautiful little rooftop, this is the first impression I got for First-of-its-kind Women Only Club, Junglee Billee in GK-1 M-block market.
Ms. Nida Mehmood has really raised the bar with her passionate designs and concept. Bringing back the concept of Gentlemen, Junglee Billee is all about Women and the power of Women.
In a briefing, Nida told us that the fact that JB is a women-only club, in no way means something negative for the men. Instead, this is all about the Modern Gentleman giving his woman the much-needed space, the space she deserves.
The Club consists of Two Floors, the first one is a beautifully bright interior seating space with exquisite dolls and neck pieces (everything can be bought). Then there is the terrace which is best enjoyed in the evenings. With lush green decorations and bright neon fountain, the terrace itself was a visual treat.
Food at Junglee Billee GK-1
Coming to the food, the cuisine is inspired from Mumbai and Ahmedabad. So you can expect a lot of Chaat and Savory Snacks.
Mushroom and Spinach Quiche was very close to the baked Patties generally served as a street or Bakery Food in Delhi and Mumbai. It was cheesy, fresh and crispy. Totally loved this and would surely recommend it.
Khandvi Chaat was all about pieces of Khandvi Dhokla on a bed of savory chaat made with puffed rice, sev, onions, tomatoes and tangy chutneys.
Then there were tiny pieces of Dhokla which were slightly crisped and more on the lines of Amuse Busche. A nice tidbit to go along with your drinks.
I really liked the Fish and Chips. The fish was fresh and perfectly fried. Served in a cone with tartar sauce.
Mutton Seekh Kebabs were hearty and delicious. Chicken Kolhivada (if I’m spelling it right) was their version of street style fried chicken. The chatpata flavors were well on the lines of a Mumbaikar’s Palate.
A very different dish I had there was Chicken Bhel Puri, although the pieces of Chicken took away the crispiness of the Sev and the puffed rice, the concept is good but could be improved.
Coming to the Desserts, the Mawa Cheesecake was to die for. Although really sweet, the chunky texture of the base of the cake and the rosy flavors made it the perfect dessert for me.
